A Queensland-based manufacturing company had deployed IoT sensors across 3 production facilities but was struggling to process the resulting data volume. Their existing analytics platform could handle 200,000 data points per hour — the sensors were generating 2 million.
We designed a real-time data platform on AWS using Kinesis for data ingestion, Kafka for stream processing and TimescaleDB for time-series storage. Custom dashboards were built with React and Grafana, providing real-time visibility into equipment performance, production throughput and anomaly detection.
The platform now processes 2M+ data points per hour with sub-second latency. Predictive maintenance alerts reduced unplanned downtime by 40%. Production throughput increased 15% through real-time process optimisation. Equipment failure prediction accuracy reached 92%.
